Neom Club has officially secured the signing of Salman Al-Faraj, the former captain of Al Hilal’s first football team,
to bolster their squad newly promoted to the First Division (Yellow League).
The announcement was made by the club on Sunday.
Exciting Announcement
The club preceded the official announcement by releasing a teaser video featuring the former
Al Hilal captain with the caption “In Colors of Joy.” This was followed by another video showcasing
Al-Faraj in his new team’s jersey, accompanied by the phrase “Salman Al-Faraj is here,” without disclosing the contract duration.
Previous Speculation
At Playedia, we previously hinted at Al-Faraj’s negotiations with Neom Club. Al-Faraj’s transfer marks
the twelfth signing for Neom during the current summer transfer window. The club has also acquired former
Al Ittihad striker Romarinho, Egyptian defender Ahmed Hegazi, former Al-Tai player
Alpha Semedo, Senegalese forward Diani, goalkeeper Mustafa Malaika from Al-Fateh, former
Al-Taawoun player Abdelmalek Al-Ayeri, Islam Hawsawi from Al-Wahda, former
Al-Fateh player Abbas Al-Hassan, Osama Al-Khalaf following the end of his contract with
Al-Fayha, Fahad Al-Harbi from Al-Fateh, and former Al-Shabab player Riyadh Sharahili.
Al-Faraj’s Glorious Career
The 34-year-old Al-Faraj progressed through the youth ranks at Al Hilal before being promoted to
the first team, where he enjoyed a historic career winning over 20 titles, including 8
Saudi Professional League titles, the most recent of which was last season. Internationally,
Al-Faraj has earned 69 caps for the Saudi national team, scoring 8 goals, and participated in two
World Cup tournaments, according to the Saudi National Team statistics.
